A lot of the questions I get are based around how to create a profitable web design business. While I feel like the content and training I create does help people, sometimes I worry it’s not enough. Maybe I could be doing more for those people who want to see a massive change and want to start right now. For a long time I have been focused on just helping people starting out. But what if I focused on those people already in motion who want to see huge progress?

With this in mind I have decided to create a yearly personal mentoring program. We will be working on key business and sales skills together, talking directly every week, and I will be walking you through any questions you might have. Most of you reading this have followed me for a while and know I tell it like it is.

A huge problem I see right now with web design is that 99.9% of people are teaching and promoting BS. They are hyping the style side of “creating a cool agency” without focusing on any of the substance. They care more about their image and pretending they are some big shot. They want to run podcasts and groups that consists of them interviewing their friends and patting each other on the back. Meanwhile the people listening don’t see any real change and wonder why not.

Look - I am never going to be that person and I couldn’t be even if I tried.

If your primary goal is to just look cool online without any real progress then I am not the person to help you. I didn’t get into web design for those kinda reasons.

If your goal is to run a real web design business and then use that business to go ever further - then I am confident I can help you. Here is why I believe that:

• I started with nothing. Go back on the Fastlane Forums and you will see I only started learning web design in January 2016. I know what it feels like to be under massive personal and financial strain. I lived that life. I also know what it takes to make massive progress in a short amount of time. I have carved out a great life and I want to help others do the same.
• Since starting I have created two successful 6 figure businesses from nothing. Okay I am not driving a Lambo and flying private across the Atlantic but I live well and feel good about the work I do. Both my web design business and Fox Web School were built on pure hustle and personal sales. I have never run spammy ads or any type of BS funnel. The sales and business approach I teach works for me, it is what I live and breathe everyday, and it will work for you also.
• I have got a massive track record of helping people get results. Between Youtube, the free group, and the email list there are now close to 10,000 people who tune in to Fox Web School daily. There have been 100s (maybe 1000s) of success posts at this stage and every day someone has a massive breakthrough. I love it but I am not surprised - I know this stuff works.
• I want to help a select few go further. I have been running the free group for nearly three years, I help out on the Fastlane forums as a staff member, and I have always been happy to answer DMs and emails the best I can. I think I have clearly shown the type of person I am and what my core values are. But there is only so much I can help someone without working properly together for a real length of time. That is why I want to take things to the next level.

Making big sales with web design is not too hard once you know how. I’ve learned how to sell consistently, and also what you definitely don't want to do. I am going to go over everything I know with selling with you but I also will show you how to have a real strategy behind it all.

Selling is a word that makes people feel a bit strange sometimes. They picture someone like a used car sales person being super aggressive and manipulative. But that isn’t real sales.

Real selling is becoming an expert communicator, knowing how and when to help people, and proving valuable solutions to help get what matters most to them.

You sell every day when you talk to a stranger, when you pick up the phone, when you write a simple post online, even when you talk to yourself. Even if you don’t think so, you are already a salesperson on some level. The sales skills you have right now are directly linked to the life you live right now. How much money you make, how you live, who you know. Think about that for a moment.

When I first started selling I knew nothing. I made all the mistakes possible but I put in the time to become an expert. Sales is what got me to where I am today and it can help you do the same.

But a lot of web design “experts” are not teaching sales the right way or at all.

I don’t know why, but they try to cover it up and make it way more complicated than it has to be. They give everything a dozen silly names, make elaborate systems and processes that are impossible to follow, and don’t even seem to be using what they themselves teach.

Some are even teaching stuff that is plain dangerous for your business. The kind of sales tricks and tactics that damage your reputation and put your business on the line. I don't want to sidetrack this email but it drives me nuts and it is why I only work with a select few industry experts.

Do you want to be a “follower”, or do you start to create your own profitable web based business?

Because they are two completely different things.

Everyone else is trying to sell you on their X magic system, I want you to be sold on yourself.

Before that I helped smaller groups and did 1-on-1s and the results were the same. Now I want to work with people who are thinking both short and long term. People who want to sell big but also build something that will stay growing for years.

It isn’t hard to find quick web design business tricks out there. Lots of people promote stuff that temporarily solve a problem (maybe) with “this amazing phone script”, “this one sales trick”, “this email subject line” and so on. They get people interested by using hype tactics but long term no one sees any real progress. That is because if you do not understand the core principles behind business and making money, you will never achieve long-term success.

Let’s change that and start working together on creating a real business.

So what will I learn from working with you?

If a year from now you can think like a business owner and confidently sell web projects from $5,000 -$20,000+ I would call our time together a big success.

With these skills you will have the option to continue to scale your web design business and/or start your own separate business.

This is why some web designers go on to start wildly successful businesses in other niches - they learned how to provide value, how to spot a need in the market, and they knew how to sell.

I want you to have lasting success and not be trapped with only way to make money. That is why we will be focusing on the underlying skills needed to create and grow a real business.

The goal of this program is that you can think for yourself and you have real skills to use.

Why one year?

Because, that is how long it will take most people to make the changes needed to have long term success. I want you to see real results and already be well on the way before we finish the program.

I am sure you can find someone who will sell you on a $5,000 course though and say it is possible in just six weeks. Yet when you study real success stories of actual entrepreneurs you will see they took the time needed at the start to build a solid base.

Think of a gym - the people will see the best results, think of it as an ongoing process. The people who come in on Jan 1st thinking it will take a few weeks are usually done within a few days. They burn out, get injured, drop off. Stop looking for shortcuts!

Is there a lot of work involved?

There is some work involved but probably less than you are already doing. This is about working smarter - not harder. I do expect you to show up ready to take some big steps forward but at the same time I am realistic about how real progress is made. There will be less than one hour of content a week and one weekly live call. You can show up to the live call or you can watch it on your own time later. The other content is there when you need it.

I know you got things to do and places to be. And that won’t ever change. So this is a realistic program that focuses on consistent smaller steps and lead to BIG goals. This is NOT about rushing in and burning yourself out in 3 weeks trying to watch 200 hours of new content.

If you are driven to make this work you can fit it around your current schedule easy. We got a whole section on the program about time management and setting goals to help with this also.

Does this cost money?

Yes of course. I only want to work with people who are serious and this is one of the best ways to tell who is committed. If I wanted to be making easy passive money this is not what I would be doing. I want to work with people who think bigger and who are driven to be the best they can be.

I love seeing people succeed but I need to protect my time and efforts also. The last thing I want in this program are people who aren’t ready to make a real change and take action. It burns up my time and it holds everyone else back.

At the same time we have made it affordable for anyone who is serious about joining.

The price right now is $900 up front and then $150 a month for the following 11 months. If you are putting in the work and taking action that is very manageable. Later when the course is established we will be offering this around the $4-5k mark.

Will I get to connect with the other students?

100%. As with many of my past groups the network and community has been one of the best parts. I am excited to see what a tight group of driven people working together like this can achieve.
