To move quickly towards high paying client work we need to show we worth paying for. And the quickest way to do this is to have past jobs that were very profitable for the clients that we worked with. We need to show we have helped businesses already.
With this in mind, the two key parts you will need to consistently land high paying clients are:
1) a combination of having a great sales system along with great personal sales skills
AND
2) having past results to back up your claims and prove your expertise.
Later in this course, we will be covering the first area - sales skills. I will show you how to build a sales system so you can consistently connect with new clients and we will also be covering building sales skills so you know how to make an attractive sales pitch that clients will want to move on and consistently close new deals.
In this section, though we are going to look at the second area needed - past results that prove your expertise.
This is such an important area because it backs up everything that we will be doing later when it comes to selling.
Without proof, clients will either not believe us (which means we can’t sell) or they will only partially believe us which means if we still do work together there will be less overall trust.
Jobs where the client doesn't trust you, or your work, means more time needed to close new sales, there will be less leverage to charge higher prices, and a tougher working relationship throughout the project. We don't want that.
The good news though is it easy to avoid all of these problems. By starting smart and building a great foundation of past successful work we can have great client relationships and continue to grow our web design business quickly and profitably.
